BAD TIMING
Day five of the writers strike. As a member of the WGA I personally think that this is bad timing. We have troops still fighting overseas dying everyday, we are in the middle of a recession, children are taking guns to school and shooting one another, home foreclosures are growing everyday, 1000 plus California’s lost their homes in the fire. Not to mention that Thanksgiving and Christmas is around the fucking corner. The people that really get hurt during this “bitch fit” are the below the line people. Grips, Painters, Make up, Boom Operators, people who work harder than fucking writers but don’t get any fucking residuals. Did you also know the writer is the first to get paid before any profit is made. Hundreds of scripts are optioned and purchased every year and sometimes their produce and sometimes the writer gets to deposit a fat check in the bank for nothing. To produce a television show cost millions, a low budget film with today’s dollar is 10 million. To write a fucking script is free! The writer has no risk just 1200.00 for a fucking lap top. That extra slice of the pie is for the top writers the ones that are getting out of their Rolls Royce and picking up picket signs that read unfair! The ones that stop by Fred Siegel to pick up some "striking shoes". Remember people were a not Teachers, Doctors, Scientist or Engineers, just entertainers... that’s all. These writers are not solving any problems just writing fucking jokes. And by the way have you seen some of this shit they have been getting paid for. Maybe the public should be striking. Once again I am a member of the WGA and there is a time for this just not now.
